Cash - Closing Status 16 Mar
Bought into UMS 5 lots this week as l was attracted to its good dividend rate of $0.03. l am hoping to be able to exit it before it goes ex-dividend on 3 May. Expected dividend amount is $150 but with the stock market is still directionless, l hoping to exit it with nett gain between $50 to $150; as 3 May from now is really a short time frame investment. If l am not able to exit UMS at the nett gain target or at breakeven then l would average down.
Sold off BH Global 25 lots this week. I have invested into BH Global twice already (in year 2012) and the dividend rate declared is at $0.007 but its ex-dividend date not being announced yet. And in both times, the nett gains were higher than the expected dividend amount.
Portfolio walk since previous posting :-
$949 Total Returns as of 9 Mar
+$267 Gain on sales of BH Global
+$285 Unrealised positions improved
$1,501 Total Returns as of 16 Mar

Cash - Closing Status 02 Mar
Cash portfolio status as of this week as below.
Sold Ascendas India Trust 4 lots and SingPost 12 lots.
AscendasIndT (CY6U) - This stock has been the last of the remaining stocks to be sold off on investments committed within the last six months. I reckon that l must have purchased it at high price levels back then. I do hope to get it back at lower prices as it is a good stock to have.
SingPost (S08) - Managed to sell off very close to breakeven finally. This stock was a combi of 2 stocks purchased at higher price and 10 stocks purchased as average down. Will consider re-entering only when it goes below $0.95.
Bought BH Global 25 lots, Advanced Holdings 20 lots. Emotion gets the better of me and l could not control my itchy hands by placing buy orders into BH Global (B32) and AdvaHldg (5IA) this week. Of course, l am feeling guilty of it now. It is really a mistake to commit into new investments when stocks prices are all at their high levels now. Hope to get out of them next week; otherwise will hold on to these stocks to get the dividends and thinking over their fate ex-dividend.
Portfolio walk since previous posting :-
$1,408 Total Returns as of 24 Feb
+$215 Gain on sales of Ascendas India Trust + Dividends from K-Reit and FSL Trust
-$833 Unrealised positions worsened; primarily due toForeland
$790 Total Returns as of 02 Mar

BH Global first and final dividend 0.7 cents
BH Global Marine announced its results today.
Invested 10 lots in it last week and l have targeted my exit selling price at its unannounced dividend payout rate of 0.7 cents back then. In the same week itself l have sold it off as it has hit my exit selling price. So, l have actually already collected its first and final cash dividend payout of 0.7 cents. The actual dividend payable date is not yet determined at the moment but l expect it to go ex-dividend in early April.
Of course its stock price has gone higher since last week but then that's not my main objective as l am really going after dividends and so l have set the exit selling price.
I have now free up the invested funds in BH Global so, l can now set my next target company for advance dividend payment.

BH Global Marine ends year in good shape with net earnings of S$12.9 million in FY2011
• New business segment, Engineering Services pushed up revenue and gross profit by 39% and 17% to S$143.4 million and S$39.1 million respectively
• Recommend first and final cash dividend payout of 0.7 Singapore cents per ordinary share, representing dividend payout ratio of 28.2%
• To tap into pockets of demand in Indonesia and Middle East through expanded portfolio offerings

Investment activities - week ending 3 Feb
Investment activities this week under Cash portfolio as below :-
K-Reit Asia
Bought stock (5 lots) four weeks ago and did not manage to sell at target exit price (which was based on actual dividend rate announced) before it went ex-dividend. It went ex-dividend on 25 Jan so the cheque for dividend of $123 will be in the mail to me on 24 Feb. Finally managed to sell the entire 5 lots this week so l ended up with nett gain at breakeven of $17. So, total realised returns is $140 in all ($123 + $17) or annualised rate of 3.2% (beat FD rates, with low invested funds and extremely short time frame) and l get to reinvest using the proceeds.
BH Global Marine
Its financial results will be known on 8 Feb and from past record, its ex-dividend date should be in early April month. I have intended to invest a small amount in the range of $2k in it. It has a healthy balance sheet. But for the nine months on cash flow, it is already in net cash used status. Bought 10 lots (investment amount $1978) and assuming that dividend rate ($0.007) is kept same as last year so, l am expecting amount dividend payment of $70. But the stock price hit past my exit price target within the same week of purchase so l sold it all off at nett gain of $94 or annualised rate of 4.8% (beat FD and CPF rates, with low invested funds and extremely short time frame under one week). So, l do not really need to wait for its dividend details this coming 8 Feb and have already pocketed the dividend amount in advance.
Best World
Bought 5 lots in Dec month last year using less that $1k invested funds and with intention of going long term with it. It has a healthy balance sheet. But for the nine months on cash flow, it is already in net cash used status. Thailand flood situation and starting the learning curve over its Korea operations could further lower its full year revenue and bottom line. In line with investment strategy change in 2012, l have been wanting to sell this stock with its anticipated dividend amount ($50) as basis for the exit price. Managed to sell it all away this week at nett gain of $56 or annualised rate of 7.0% (beat FD and CPF rates, equal GST 7% rate, with low invested funds and only two months time frame).
The above are stocks sold this week. Also this week, l have invested into SG Medical 16 lots, Nam Lee Pressed Metal 11 lots and Casa Holdings 16 lots.
