Cash - Closing Status 12 July

Divested CDW 16 lots at nett gain of $57in this week under Cash portfolio.  Its 2nd quarter results are likely to be weak mainly because of a major customer's stock adjustment.  Nevertheless overall full year results will still be okay.   So, l will look into re-investment opportunity on CDW at lower share price levels.

Also divested Tai Sin Electric 3 lots in this week at nett gain of $16.  It reported good revenue and profit results for 9M2012; so is cash generating from operating activities and strong Balance Sheet.  Will re-invest into Tai Sin soon.

Invested into Mapletree Logistics 1 lot in this week.  This logistics reit company has its well diversified customer-mix businesses in Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam and South Korea.  There is greater stability and resilience because there is no reliance on any single industry or customer.  Based on my investment costs in it l can expect an annual dividend yield 6.2% if l am stuck with it.

Also invested into Far East Hospitality Trust 1 lot in this week under Cash portfolio.  It goes XD on 18 July for dividend rate at $0.019 which equivalent to 2.0% dividend yield.  Definitely better than bank deposit rate for an investment costs under $1k.

Added SingPost 5 lots in this week so bringing total holding of it at 19 lots now. Looking forward to its usual next dividend which will XD on 14 Aug at dividend rate of $0.0125 if it is maintained the same as previous years.

I have plucked up my courage to invest into Loyz Energy 17 lots.  It's a new and exciting chapter for Loyz now that Sim Siang Choon Hardware has been successfully sold away to Mr Sim Siang Choon.

Cash - Closing Status 21 June

Added Tai Sin Electric 1 lot in this week under Cash portfolio so my total holding now at 3 lots. Hope to get more of it if its share price weaken slightly in the near future.

Also added Kingsmen Creatives 1 lot so my total holding in it now at 2 lots.  If l am stuck with my investment in Kingsmen then it will still be okay as l will be collecting an annual dividend 4.5% (based on my investment costs in it) which is still greater than bank deposit rate.  I will collect more of it if its share price weakens further in the near future.

Even though l have said not to increase my holding in Keppel Reit two weeks ago but l have continued to increase my investment in it.  In the early part of this week l have added Keppel Reit 1 lot so my total holding in it now at 2 lots.  Its share price slumped further by Friday's closing bell.  Serve me right really for going back on my own words.  Anyway, l can still expect a good passive income with its dividend yield 5.5% based on my investment costs in it.

I have increased my investment in CDW Holding 5 lots in this week so my total holding in it now at 16 lots.  By doing so l was hoping to bring down the average cost but it does not really happen the way l wanted it to be.  I will probably letting go of this newly added investment first in the near future, hopefully before the release of Qtr 2 results which is likely to be quite bad.

Missed opening up a mail which was received two weeks ago which contains a cheque on a dividend received from CDW Holdings for $97.

Cash - Closing Status 14 June

In this week under my Cash portfolio l have added a few stocks to my current portfolio on Cache Logistics 1 lot, Suntec Reit 1 lot, Duty Free 2 lots, UMS 2 lots and SingPost 1 lot.

These additions did not help much as they are still under heavy unrealized losses.  Will selectively adding more stocks next week as share prices will continue drifting lower.

In this week, l have invested into both CM Pacific 1 lot and Tai Sin Electric 2 lots; both of which l have divested them away around two weeks ago.   l do not mind getting stuck with my investments in them if their share prices remaining weak.  Both companies dish out reasonable annual dividends of more than 6%.

SRS - Closing status 31 May

Invested into Tai Sin Electric 18 lots under SRS portfolio some two weeks back.  Its shares was dumped immediately it released its Qtr 3 results with a weak gross profit margin.  But investors soon realized it's really premature to presume bad times ahead for Tai Sin and its share price recover upwards slightly in the next few days.  I took this opportunity to divest it all away in this week for a profit of $120 which is equivalent to an investment returns of 2.3%.

Also in this week for my SRS portfolio l have invested into SingPost 13 lots.  When its share price improved in the same week which resulted in a 1.2% returns on investment costs in it so l did not hesitate further but to liquidate it away for a of profit $212.

Portfolio walk since previous posting :-

Cash - Closing Status 31 May

In this week l have donated $50 each to Metta Welfare Association and Promoting Alternatives To Violence.

Invested into SingPost 15 lots under my Cash portfolio in this week. I have seen it rise slowly and steadily over the past months and l would have thought that it is quite immune to stock market consolidation. I was wrong. The global stock markets volatility especially in Japan is affecting SingPost as well. I will have to keep SingPost for some time to come now. Will have to wait out till it goes XD on 2 July, perhaps.

Put in a small investment amount into Tai Sin Electric 2 lots this week. But because of the volatility of global stock markets in this week so l have decided to sell it away in the same week at a gain of $17 which equivalent to 2.9% returns on the invested costs. Hope to re-invest into Tai Sin at lower share price level.

I have divested away CM Pacific 1 lot in this week for 1.7% returns or $15 which is definitely better than what the bank deposit can offer for a small investment amount over a period of around two weeks. Hope to re-invest into CM Pacific at lower share price level.

Also invested a very small investment amount into Telechoice 1 lot under Cash portfolio this week. And l cannot resist in letting it go in the same week for a gain of $14 which equivalent to 6.1% on the invested costs. Will re-invest into Telechoice when its share price re-visit lower share price level.

Received a cheque in the mail from UMS for dividend payment amount of $340. I do not mind getting stuck investing into UMS, just in case its share price goes south if l ever investing into it again as it is a good problem to have due to its generous dividends.

Cash - Closing Status 17 May

Received a cheque of $160 from SembCorp Marine in this week.  Even though l am still stuck with this investment but at least its dividend yield is still better than bank deposit rate.

Decided to invest into CDL Hospitality Trusts 1 lot in this week under Cash portfolio.  As the share market is still in consolidating phase so l have sold it off in the same week for a better than bank deposit rate returns of 1.6%.  If l am ever stuck with my investment in it l will have no regrets as l will consider it a good problem to have due to its reasonably good dividend yield of around 5.5%.  Will look for re-investment opportunity in it.

Cordlife has been in my radar due to its good results at half time and sure enough the same superb results was repeated for Qtr 3 which as was announced in this week.  But l still think its share price has gone up too high so l have only invested for 1 lot in it.  Even though Qtr 3 was a good set of results but investors still dumped its share on the next day (14 May) and l can safely guess it as due to its failure to declare any dividend at all when comparing to last year's dividend rate of $0.020.  Anyway, it was just a one day sell off of its share as it recovered quickly and to a much higher share price level now.  On Friday it made an after market announcement on  acquisition of cord blood and cord tissue banking businesses and assets in India, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Indonesia and l expect its share price is likely to shoot through the roof on Monday.  However and most unfortunately l have sold it away much earlier in the same week for a much smaller 2.7% profit.

Invested into Tai Sin Electric  2 lots in this week under Cash portfolio.  Its share price dropped by 4.9% on Monday as investors viewed its 9M2013 results announced on last Friday evening negatively.  But its share price was quite well supported from Tuesday onwards.  Investors probably quite concern with its Qtr 3 results as its gross profit margin was at 15.3% when comparing to last year's 19.2%.  But one quarter's bad performance would not mean of the same outcome in Qtr 4.

CM Pacific share price did not drop much after it went XD last week.  And investors stayed almost stayed neutral to its announcement this week that its deal to acquire Jiurui expressway deal in exchange for its New Zealand property business is now called off.  I took the opportunity of this stable condition by investing a very small amount in it for 1 lot.

Despite a bad Qtr 1 results for Telechoice, it is expecting Qtr 2 to be better than previous year and overall full year will be satisfactory.  So this week l have increased my investment in Telechoice by another 16 lots under Cash portfolio.

Made a small additional investment in Duty Free of 1 lot under Cash portfolio in this week.

Invested into Ascendas India Trusts 1 lot in this week.  It quoted a slightly positive market research report by India based Jones Lang LaSalle so l was quite comforted by this.  But over the weekend l was unhappy to hear that India faces at least "a one-in-three" chance of losing its prized sovereign grade rating by global ratings agency Standard & Poor.  Luckily my investment is small so fingers crossed.

SRS - Closing Status 17 May

GP Industries share price dropped by 7% after it announced on 15 May that its Qtr 4 will be affected by bad results in its associated company.  I can consider myself lucky as  l have already divested from GP Industries 11 lots at the start of this week for a 1.8% profit over the invested costs under my SRS portfolio.  For now, l am staying away from GP Industries and will be looking at his half time results around Nov'13 time for re-investment decision in it.

Invested into Tai Sin Electric 15 lots in this week under SRS portfolio.

Despite a bad Qtr 1 results for Telechoice, it is expecting Qtr 2 to be better than previous year and overall full year will be satisfactory.  So this week l have invested in Telechoice 15 lots.
